During the electricity deregulation crisis in California, TXP led the team hired by the California State Auditor's Office to determine the underlying causes of the problem and recommend solutions. TXP was also engaged by a small business advocacy group to measure the economic impacts of the introduction of retail competition into the provision of electricity in all fifty states. For a number of years, TXP provided an analysis of regional economic trends for the Wall Street Journal's New England, Texas, and Pacific Northwest editions.
In addition, TXP has a long-standing consulting relationship with the City of Austin on topics ranging from traditional economic development to the growing role of film and music in the region's economy.
